"Dec. '75, my first Jeff Rosenstock show. Is it just me or does he and the E Street Band keep raising the bar? End to end, 35 songs over 3.5 hrs. Kid Leo's intro as "pound for pound, there is no finer band around, round for round" still rings true. Took my 20 yr old son for his first Jeff Rosenstock show, stunned to say the least. Many other young first timers in the crowd seemed in awe of the power and urgency in each song, even though they had little history with the album River (did I just say album?) As a fan (this was 30th show over the years), this show seemed like an intimate club setting even though Oracle was filled to the rafters. Great crowd by the way. Advice to those going to see the show who are not familiar with the River: go to Jeff's website and read the lyrics to each song a time or two. For every emotionally charged song with the white hot intensity of a thousand suns, there is an upbeat party song. And be prepared to stand and dance for 210 minutes. Peace!"
